Trump Freezes Over $2b in Funding to Harvard After It Refuses to Accept Reform Demands

Trump's Task Force on Combatting Antisemitism said that:
'Harvard's statement today reinforces the troubling entitlement mindset that is endemic in our nation's most prestigious universities and colleges'

The Trump administration has frozen over $2 billion in funding to Harvard, hours after the university announced that it won't comply with a list of White House demands as part of its campaign against antisemitism.

University president Alan Garber said in a letter that the institution would “not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights”.
“The administration’s prescription goes beyond the power of the federal government,”

He continued, “No government – regardless of which party is in power — should dictate:
1. what private universities can teach,
2. whom they can admit and hire,
3. and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”
