Robert De Niro was offered the role of Tony Montana but turned it down and Martin Scorsese was almost the director.

Thank God De Palma and Pacino did it, I don't think Marty and De Niro could have done a better job.

Who would have been the writer of this alternative version? Or would they have used Oliver Stone's script?
