LaSalle, and Vincy Rao, were, quite possibly, the two most respected and important "cabinet" members Tommy Brown ever had. Agreed. What about Mariano Macaluso? Wasn't he close to Tommy Brown; Corallo and all those guys? He even served in the administration of Victor Amuso until he got really really old and they ''shelved him''/

Mariano (Mac) Macaluso lived in the same neighborhood of Malba, Queens along with Tommy Brown, Joe Brown, Tony Ducks and a hundred other guys who were part of that particular borgata. And yes, Macaluso was a highly respected guy, decades before he was ever tapped by the younger Vic Amuso. A real old-timer.

@NyMafia
How did Mariano Macaluso serve in Vic Amuso's administration? Was {Mac} close to Amuso and Casso?
He was a old man. Contrary to what some say, I strongly believe that during his lifetime Mariano Macaluso "technically" held the rank of but a soldier. But he was a very respected guy, whose real strength and value to Tommy Gagliano, and later, Tommy Lucchese, lay more in his ability to generate money through legitimate business investments than through gangsterism. Thats why so little was ever known or written about his activities. He wasn't a street hood, per se, running narcotics, gambling, etc. He was also respected for his sharp mind and the savvy and wise counsel he was often sought out for by Tommy Lucchese, who he happened to be very close to.
