A shipment of 1400 kilos of cocaine had gotten through the port of Antwerp in Belgium with ease on August 29, 2024. Corruption and greed or threats and fear made sure certain organized crime groups controlled an easy entry into Europe for their product. The container was now being driven via truck to its next destination. But it would never arrive.

Court of Appeal suspends detention of nephew Ridouan Taghi
The court in Arnhem has suspended the pre-trial detention of Aïmane Taghi under conditions. This nephew of Ridouan Taghi was sentenced to five years in prison in April last year for drug and arms trafficking. In the appeal, the court has now ruled that Taghi can go outside with an ankle monitor.
The court bases its decision on a positive report from the Probation Service, and finds that the personal interests of the suspect and the long duration of the trial now justify a suspension. This was confirmed by Aïmane Taghi's lawyer, Yehudi Moszkowicz.

The Taghi family are extremely smart, but many of them are also very involved in organzied crme. A dangerous mix.

His older brother Jamal (now detained in Morocco) did the bookkeeping for the Taghis. The brothers detention concerns the murder of the innocent son of a Moroccan chief judge, by mistaken identity. The only big blunder. Messages that Taghi, according to the judiciary, sent to his murder gang, paint a chillingly careless 'well-oiled machine' - with the occasional glitch.
