According to police, the "Bandidos" biker club has opened a clubhouse in Cuxhaven. Police conducted extensive checks in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant.
During operations in the Altenwalde-Franzenburg district on Friday and Saturday, officers seized knives, a baton, and impact gloves. They also discovered jackets bearing anti-constitutional symbols in several cars. Apart from that, the operation proceeded "without incident," police announced on Sunday morning. "Our strong presence sends a clear message: biker crime is being consistently combated," said operations commander Bastian Schwarzat. In addition to Cuxhaven police officers, riot police officers were also deployed. A Cuxhaven police spokesperson confirmed to NDR Lower Saxony on Saturday evening that a low three-digit number of participants had traveled to the biker event.
Bundeswehr warns soldiers
Because of the "Bandidos" event, the Naval Aviation Corps in Nordholz has called on its soldiers not to appear in public in uniform in nearby Cuxhaven until Monday and to avoid the area around the new clubhouse. A spokesperson for the Naval Aviation Corps explained that the safety notice was sent to the employees out of a duty of care.
