I disagree with you on the point that Rambo was pretty lame to begin with. IMO, the first part was a great movie. Ofcourse it is manipulative, playing with people's stereotypical views on vietnam, cops etc. But what is great is that there are extensive set of scenes, some lasting as much as 5-10 min, with no dialogue at all. Sometimes, we just see him making weapons in the cave and it is fully attention grabbing. Not a single boring scene (except in the in end when he surrenders and weeps).

I too am a Rambo fan. Actually, as much as I like the Rocky series, I like Rambo even more. I liked all three of them, but the first one is the best IMHO. A while back there was a rumor that Sly was gonna do another Rambo. They were toying with "The Night Of The Taliban." While, I admit, most of the time when you get into 3rd & 4th installments of popular films, they bomb, I love the sympathic & torn character of Rambo. :p A little imagination and a lot of action, and most importantly, a good story, and I'd find it entertaining. I dont know what to think of this. I liked the Rambo movies when I was a kid when I was arguing with friends who would win a fight, Rambo or the Terminator Its the same with Rocky 6. Should he or should he not?!

Stallone Talks Rambo IV & More Is Sly still a Contender at the box office? May 25, 2005 - At the post-fight press conference for NBC's The Contender finale in Las Vegas, Sylvester Stallone was on hand with co-host Sugar Ray Leonard. While taking a break from all the questions about the show, which NBC apparently has dropped, Stallone had a few things to say regarding other projects. He's currently working on production of a film about the recent Rampart police scandal that was an embarrassment for the L.A.P.D. "It will be a film for HBO."
When asked about other projects, such as Rocky or Rambo, Stallone had this to say: "I've finished the script to Rambo, and it looks like we will get started on that real soon." When asked when production would begin, he replied, "In a perfect world... September." Stallone said all is ready to go, and hopefully that's when they will begin filming.

Rambo: first blood was good and fairly enjoyable for the most part but the other two in my opinion are dire. On his own he beats the vietnamese and soviet union which is just imploding with tackiness and has only gave a back bone for all those other things like it where the "hero" beats a whole police force, army etc on his own with one gun. For Shame.
