That's all I'm getting. And an amen to that. I think we can agree when I say Batman Forever led to the filth that is now your average super-hero movie.

It has its amusement purposes, but as far as quality goes, it lacks.

I'm definitely buying Batman Returns. It's proof that a Hollywood blockbuster can be deeply personal, intelligent, moving, and actually even entertaining. Others may feel differently, but I have no reservations in calling it one of the greatest movies ever made. The best critique I've ever read for this film was that it was a "big fuck-you love letter to mainstream audiences." Both Burton films have been criticized for focusing too much on the villains, but the Penguin is just such a great character that he warrants it. And Michael Keaton is Batman. I think this is Burton's best film, even more so than the excellent Ed Wood.
Both Batman Forever and Batman and Robin are underrated. I wouldn't go so far as saying either were great, but neither are horrible. For all the horrible reviews B&R got, I'd rank it about the same as the way overrated Spider-Man films. Both of the Schumaker Batmans suffer from being way too immature, even when they try to be otherwise. Burton's dark style is much more appropriate than the campy, cartoon-ish style in the Schumaker films, but they are still rather fun.
I'm thinking of buying the 1989 Batman and Batman Begins, but I don't feel they are as essential as Returns. Hell, if they release a box set of all five for a cheap price, I'll buy them all.

Actually I might buy them all. I am cursed as of reading the comics later in life and early in life, which makes me bring myself to a conclusion. I feel that I love everything batman. Actually its been a long time since I have seen all of them(except begins). Sadly my favorite of the live actions is batman forever. I know I should kill myself right about now.

I've also heard that Forever will be released as a Director's Cut with half an hour of footage cut by the studio intact.

Aww man...
That's thirty mintutes of shity film that I don't have to see...+
Why would they even consider giving the Schumaker Batman's a 2 dics special edition? Those films damn near destroyed the franchise.
