I just called and had no problem. Here's how it went:
I called the 215-923-0100 number and was greeted by the operator. I told her "I wanted to confirm my reservation", and she transferred me to Reservations where I was on hold for about a minute.
They picked up, I told them the same thing, and that someone at corporate had reserved a block of rooms for our group under our own names. She asked for which date (Aug 18) and my name, and there it was. She confirmed it was for 2 nights. I asked her if it was for $89/night and I was put on hold again for about a minute; she returned and said yes, it was, but because it was reserved this way she needed my address, phone number, and credit card number. I told her yes, that's why I'm calling. (And I'm thinking to myself how smoothly this is going ) She then asked if I wanted Smoking or Non. She then asked if I wanted an email confirmation, and I said yes, and gave her my email address -- and, badda beep badda bap badda boop! I just got it.
At the end she asked if there was anything else she could help me with, and I asked her name (Tara) and told her that a lot of people where having problems confirming their reservations and she apologized and said that normally reservations are confirmed with peoples' addresses, but once she knew that someone else had made the reservation in my name, she was able to find it no problem.
I asked her if people could contact her directly since she knew the situation, and she said unfortunately they don't have direct lines, but if everyone calling explained that "the room was reserved in their name by someone else", then it shouldn't be a problem. She apologized again for those who had trouble, and cheerfully wished me a nice day.
So, hope that helps
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol
