Yeah, let's hear it! You think you could just sneak back in here without telling us all of the details?

Awwww thanks!! I totally missed you guys.

Okay, details...

I went to the south of France and Spain with 8 cousins from here, and we met up there with 11 more cousins from Italy and Switzerland, so we were 20 in all... crazy, fun, and loud. Most of the time we were on the beaches (which were gorgeous!!) or out dancing, but I did get to see some beautiful architecture and stuff as well. It was totally worth it-- pictures you see of those places totally don't do it justice.

That was a little over two weeks, and then everyone went back to their respective countries to get back to work and stuff, but my cousin Bruno and I stayed behind and went to Paris, where two of our friends met up with us for that part of the trip. It's a gorgeous city, but dirtier than I expected it to be. Still very nice though... great restaurants, great shopping, and great people-watching at cafès and stuff. We didn't do a lot of the really touristy stuff-- we went to the Louvre and a few cathedrals, but other than that, we were just doing whatever looked interesting. We went to this cool jazz bar at like 3 am one night, and just a bunch of fun stuff around the city that make for some way more interesting memories than just seeing all the stuff that everyone else does, you know?

It was a lot of fun, but I'm kind of bummed that Italy didn't work out this time. But there's always next year.

Btw, you missed all the 100+ degree weather poor thing. :p

That sounds amazing; it's those kind of nights that really make a trip memorable. A lovely place with people you love. I can't think of a better way to live.

Pictures, please, m'lady.

How soon can you guys be packed?

I have a lot of pictures, but my cousins are in most of them, and I don't know how they'd feel about their pictures being on the internet. I don't even like the idea of my own picture being on here anyway.

Yeah, I heard it got pretty humid, too. Gross!

Thanks for all the sweet welcomes, guys! Speaking of welcomes... is there any moment greater than when the guy at the Customs counter hands you back your passport and says welcome back? The guy I had actually said, "Welcome back, sweetheart." Awww. If that glass partition wasn't there, I think I would have kissed him at that moment, I was so glad to be back.

Here's a story that you'll appreciate, Zia, given your customs experience. My grandparents returned to Sicily for visit when they were in their late 60's. My grandfather was so happy to return to the US that he literally kissed the ground when they got off the boat.

Thanks Kris! How's everything with you, how much longer?

SB, I love that story! I didn't go to that extent, but the sentiment was the same.
