As I've already said in other threads/forums, she's prostituting the death of her son.
Instead of "prostituting the death of her son", I think his death just opened her eyes and motivated her to take action. Therefore she did, and she started up a peaceful organization. I have nothing wrong with that, and I don't see why anyone else should. We need more peace in a country filled with hatred.
