The distinction between terror and terrorism, how terror continues to rule the mind and might probably continue to rule long after the terrorists are defeated, and other such messages I tried to explore in my intial post have got lost in the personal fights.
Although this is one of the more "intellectual" forums on the net, it is still trapped in the yoke of blind patriotism and cliqueishness.
There is no real opportunity for rational debate. I appreciate your efforts to stimulate debat svsg, but they are wasted here. All that results is a lot of back-slapping and self-congratulation among the conservative pro-Bush American clique on these boards. Anyone else gets flamed and shouted down.

gettig back on topic, I notice that the officers involved in the appalling De Menezes shooting are now
facing charges here in the UK for unlawful killing.
