I've said it many times, ranted many times about it and i still say that Frank Sinatra was the single greatest vocalist I've ever heard if only because his voice and his method of reading a song so that he inhabited it brought an unseen truth to songs.

Not necessarily in any particular order: Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr, Toby Keith, George Strait, Andrea Bocelli, Mario Lanza, Neil Sedaka, Johnny Mathis, Howard Keel, Katherine Grayson, Robert Goulet, Julie Andrews, others too numerous to mention.

I know it's a matter of taste, but I assume we are speaking of a combination of voice, style & appeal? My favorites are from the rock genre, but thanks to my upbringing, I have an appreciation of different kinds of music, and voices. Here goes (in no particular order): Frank Sinatra Connie Frances (in her prime anyway. She sang some beautiful Italian songs) Mario Lanza (I grew up with his voice blaring on Sunday mornings) Frankie Laine (Don't know why exactly, but I like his voice and style) Whoever the lead singer in the Platters is (can't remember his name, but his voice was beautiful.) Rod Stewart Don Henley John Lennon Bob Dylan Elvis Presley Billy Joel I'm leaving so many out, but this is a start anyway. TIS

One word: Willis Awwwww yeah, BOI! *throws gang symbol*
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

Top Three: Dylan, McCartney/Lennon, Neil Young.
Then:
Jimmy Buffett, Warren Zevon, Mick Jagger, Jerry Garcia, The Beach Boys/Brian Wilson, Johnny Cash
The Doc
And you liar, teller of tall tales: you trample all the Lord's commandments underfoot, you murder, steal, commit adultery, and afterward break into tears, beat your breast, take down your guitar and turn sin into a song. Shrewd devil, you know very well that God pardons singers no matter what they do, because he can simply die for a song.
