Whatever. Personally, I think that if you live in a rough neighbourhood and/or you deal with undesirables on a daily basis and you constantly fear for your life, then yes you should be able to carry some sort of lethal weapon to defend yourself against the aforementioned undesirables. I don't know the statistics and what not, but I don't think that most American gun owners fall into this category. No matter, the right to own firearms and ammunition is enshrined in The Bill Of Rights in The American Constitution and as everybody knows this is the highest law in the land. At the same time, a woman has the right to an abortion and if a person can own a gun, a woman can have an abortion. The reason? The same reason we can smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol and gamble (in a regulated venue). They're LEGAL.

Regardless of whether someone has no right to possess any sort of weapon whatsoever or whether they can arm themselves to the teeth there will always be criminals and there will always be policemen. The law is the law right?

Iceman, no offense to you personally but how is this "Good news!!!" exactly? Does the right to carry a concealed gun enrich your life in any meaningful way? Do you feel safer now? Do you feel that the gun completes you or that you are that much more secure than the next guy because of the pistol? Again, no offense, maybe it's just me, but I can't see how owning a firearm would increase the pleasure of one's life and increase his contributions to humanity.
