Don't know if you were only referring to the young ones here or not Debra, but......
I remember way way back when "pot" parties didn't start until after 9:00 p.m. so as to avoid getting busted by parents or unexpected visitors. :p Narcs were quite popular, at least in my area, for befriending and then busting pot/drug users, and one was always suspicious of any newcomer. You're not a Narc are you Debra???? :p
Anyway, I put "soft" drugs (pot,in my youth), although I did try "Chocolate Mesc" once and hated it. I was moving at 100 miles an hour. Couldn't stand it.

Ive tried pot twice. I didn't like it the first time, so I thought I'd give it another try. Didn't like it the second time either. In fact, the second time I used it, I was so fucked up I ended up tripping and falling off my deck, and tearing ligaments in my ankle. Since then, I haven't touched the stuff. I still have the occasional drink, though.

I used to do marijuanna. I still do (from time to time every blue moon) but I used to as well. I do enjoy a few beers every now and then and I don't really see anything wrong with that or with smoking weed, provided it does not affect the lives of those around you in a negative manner. I smoke cigarettes and I hope to one day quit, but as any smoker or ex smoker knows, that is much easier said than accomplished. I used to smoke weed more in high school and drink a lot more hard liquor and such. I was immature and stupid as we pretty much all are during high school. But hey, I made it out ok and I learned from it. I've never done any hard drugs (crack/cocaine, heroin, meth, E etc.) but people who do such drugs are gonna do them whether they are illegal and tightly restricted or completely legal and in the open. Vices like (soft) drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and prostitution should be legalized, regulated by the government in a responsible manner and taxed. That's what I think anyway...

Hey, xXx_Don_C., I just noticed your quote under the avatar is from Nirvana's In Bloom. "Sell the kids for food, weather changes moods...spring is here again...He's the one, who likes all our pretty songs, and he, likes to sing along, and he, loves to shoot his gun, but he, don't know what means...when I sing it...! Great line, great song!

I'm not a druggie, what with the military and all, but I will tell you about some cool medical drugs. Morphine for starters, duh. I dislocated my kneecap a week ago, had to get rushed to the ER. If I wasn't in so much pain from the dislocation, the morphine probably would have had a "better" effect, what little it did for the EXTREME pain was hardly noticible. What DOES rule though is Triopental. It's a barbituate, actually one of the things used in lethal injections from what I've read. Mind you this was a much smaller dose. Anyways, it knocks you out in about 30 seconds, woo! Last thing I remember is watching the nurse inject the stuff into the IV, then I guess I went under, they fixed my knee...and coming to was cool. Y'know how you feel when your foot's asleep? Well imagine that...but everywhere! You're flopping around like a fish and your vision is swimming and your mouth is going all nuts like that scene from "Bruce Almighty" when Bruce made the news anchor talk gibberish.
What do you think this is the Army, where you shoot'em a mile away?
You've gotta get up close like this and bada-bing! you blow their brains all over your nice Ivy League suit.

I recently quit smoking. I was a huge fan of Lucky Strike until my blood pressure went up, now I'm off those.
I do drink. A lot. My drink of choice being Rum or Bourbon. I'll be a drinker my whole life.
As for pot, nope. Never tried it. I'm a writer and musician and a strict advocate of not using drugs to write or influence songs. I know what you are all gonna say, how can he be a fan of Hunter Thompson and Bob Dylan and the Beatles and not like pot for writing or music? Well, I just don't think it's genuine. When I write music or stories, I want them to be from my brain and result from my true emotions, not some drug-induced haze. I never write drunk either, tried it once, it's all gibberish. Though I do have to say I've recorded some great stuff with my buddies drunk.
I did have a period where I was addicted to Darvocet, a painkiller like Vikatin. I had a bunch of bottles of it left over from a throat condition and could not stop taking em for a few months, they were so great, until I could not write anymore that is.

although I have seen several times people sniffing coke and smoking crack in front of me, I've never tried these ones myself. I've used speed many many times, which makes the exact same effect than cocaine, and I've tried glue, benflogin, chloroform and others inhalers but don't plan to use'em again. now, as for alcohol (especially beer) and marijuana, I just don't see my life without them. I don't remember the last day I did not smoke a joint, and just last night I was drunk! now, before the preaching, dissing and judging, let me defend myself saying that I've never repeated an year in school, and that it hasn't been affecting me much. for instance, I did make a test (I do law school) this morning (a morning after being drunk) and just passed it.

Alright, now I have more time. My favorite drinks are Jim Beam Black Whiskey and Labatt Blue Beer. And I used to be heavy into pot, but I only do it every now and then now.

Ah, but its cheap, and most certainly gets the job done. If I'm not paying, I'll gladly drink Smirnoff, or whatever is handy.. but Vladi's not so bad if you mix it. :p I think I've actually acquired a taste for it. Me, Turi, and Ferro all had a convo about this I think in the chatroom. I'll take Rum and Coke over anything any day though. Mmmmm.

I like Crown and Dr. Pepper. Best mixture out there, IMO. But then again, I like drinking whiskey without a chaser. I don't drink nearly as much as when I was a minor (imagine that! ), but my drink of choice is definitely Crown Royal. Crown and Coke (cola, not powder) is really good, too. I'm not a big rum fan. The smell of it makes me nauseous. And vodka translates to "worst f*cking hangover ever" for me. Never drink Jungle Juice. Or you can drink it, but leave the cherries and pineapple alone. Just trust me on this one...

I remember my first day moving in down here.. apparently all the frats and regular houses were having a competition to see who could scare away the most parents in the fastest time possible. Everywhere you turned, there were signs for a Kegger.. and I saw a LOT of Jungle Juice signs.. $5 for entry. My dad said back in the day the TKE frat (I think it was TKE) put up signs saying "Don't worry Dad, we'll take care of your daughter"... haha. I never go out and drink though.. its always just with my friends.. not in the dorms of course. That would be against the rules. I can say however that I can hold my liquor. I've never thrown up, passed out, or had a (bad) hangover. And its not because I don't drink enough, because trust me, I do. The dumbest thing I remember doing is trying to fit through my friend Tyler's doggie door. I didn't fit. One time I also apparently started walking (crying and stumbling) towards a police station. I wasn't familiar with the town and had no idea there was a police station there. Thankfully my friend Sean stopped me and leaned me against a telephone pole while he finished up his conversation. Oh good times, good times.
