I will give you an idea of what i mean... Id love to travel to the past and end up in the 1920's-50's that would be great to see what they wore and even see what my Grandad looked like as a teen! 1940's Now lets chat about were you would like to travel to in the past...!

They wanted to go back to when no one was alive. Now, I don't know if they meant no HUMANS were alive.. or absolutely NOTHING was alive (like Dinosaurs, etc.) The world would be incredibly boring if nothing existed.
Me? I'd like to go back to the 30's, so that I could be around when most of my favorite actors/actresses were big.. like Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, Lauren Bacall, James Stewart.. it would have been neat to meet them, or at least go see some of their movies in the theater. I think so anyway.
I'd also like to go back to various points in time to see historical events take place.. like the Civil War.. the Revolutionary War.. Caesar's time.. Pyramids being built.. that sort of thing.

I see! I know every generation has their memories,(I'm referring to not necessarily personal memories, but more of things happening in the world, changes, events etc.) and it's always hard to put into words the "feel" of the era to someone who didn't live them. Part of me looks back with fond memories that I was a part of a generation who took hold of ideas, and tried to change things, and then part of me thinks, "How the hell did I survive the 60's." TIS

Hi, TIS...I hadn't seen the CNN story, but being a fanatic of all things 'Titanic'...looked up the link after reading your post. According to the story there are two more survivors, one of whom, Milvina Dean ... I've seen in several television interviews. Note: the lifeboat pictured in the article below is a 'collapsible'. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/05/07/titanic.survivor.ap/index.html Apple

Apple My seven year old has shown an interest as of late in The Titanic. He brought home a few books from school in the last couple of weeks. I let him watch the movie a little but it spooked him a bit. How come noboby thought of shuttling people back to the ice burg in the lifeboats and wait for rescue.

Did you hear that? And also, Since they put "American" in there, I assume there are still survivors in other countries.
TIS I saw today that the last living person who was old enough to remember anything from it died at the age of 98.

That's the same person TIS is referring to in her post. As the story states, she was 5 years old at the time, whereas the two remaining survivors were infants. Apple

Apple How was it confirmed so long after. Didn't I witness accounts adress the ship breaking in two. I am only asking because it sounds like you know your ship when it comes to the Titanic

I've read just about every book available about the Titanic.
Must've been about ten of them...some really interesting stuff.
The film A Night To Remember, based on Walter Lord's book of the same name, is in black and white and done almost documentary-style, and, as Apple says, much more historically accurate and focused on the story of the sinking itself rather than a bogus romantic tale.
