Oh, I get it...."pounds"....That funny English money.

I thought you meant like a million pounds of truffles, or a million pounds of birdseed, or a million pounds of feathers or french bread or shoelaces or something.

Let's see.....a million dollars.

Well, after I was finished paying off my credit card bills, my mortgage, my back taxes, my car, my bookmaker, my life insurance policy, my library fines, my parking tickets, and all the rest of my debts, that will leave me with about forty-three dollars.

What is that in pounds?

About 23 pounds

Youd have loads more than that surely!

I dunno....those library fines can really add up when you don't return a few books for years.

I personally am banned from taking books from my local library due to large fines.

I would give it ALL to JGeoff if he agreed to forever close the 'Question of the Week' thread.

I'd probably throw in a bottle of wine, too.

Or even worse...Abbott & Costello / Willie Nelson / Dottie West...in real life.

Of course, having all your friends throw concerts to raise money for you probably isn't too bad a road to go down.

I would pay off my bills. Give a little to the 3 kids and go on a year long cruise with my hubby. Maybe buy a vacation home out west somewhere.

A friend of mine said if he won the lottery he would put a £100,000 in a briefcase, dress up as a tramp and ask passersby for £10. The first person to give him a tenner would be rewarded with the briefcase, and my friend would blast off with a jetpack.

Cool idea, I think.

That's a good idea, Mick.

I'd most deffinately develop a strong habit with Heroin, and push it as far as it could go. But why stop there? Oh, sure, why not... I've always wondered how much a couple of French concubines and a house in the pines would cost me. Well, hey. It wouldn't matter much... The financial discharge would weigh no responsibility on me, other than hiring a Portugese midget to look after my money, and make all offical transactions in my name. When all is said and done, I'd have probably pushed it to its most grim, fatal extent. What I did with the money wouldn't matter half as much as what the money did to me. And, this would call upon pondering, as I sit in a sketchy motel room on the outskirts of Vegas, drinking gasoline out of a beer-cap, enjoying a rub down from a pair of conjoined Sweedish twins, and rummaging through my plastic baggie for the last of the reds.

Ah... well, damn.

I would buy a golden statue of myself, and hire a guy to walk beside humming theme music.

Then I'd realize that I'd spent all my money on worthless crap and I'd hang myself.

Either I hang myself or I get my limbs slowly cut off by Chinese people while they sing camp songs.

No thanks.

$1 million might not be enough to even get you your dream house in New York.

And even if you did have some change from that million after buying it, the taxes and upkeep on the place would quickly eat it up.

I am.

With £1 million I would stick it in the bank, forget about it for a few years, and try to think of a better answer than this. In the meantime It may have risen to £1.25m or maybe even £1.5m thanks to interest!!

You might be interested to note; they do say you need about £10 million to live the life of a millionaire nowadays, as it were.
