Did the Lord said it, or was it the Bible?

Actually, the Bible as we know it today is only a very small portion of what was written. Certain text, such as the scriptures written about Christ's relationship with Judas, were excluded. This website sheds light on that:

Yes Mignon some may believe that. I do. I mean who says that 1 day is 24 hours to God? It could be Millions of years for him.

I can fully understand and respect Mignon's insistence in what is taught via the Bible. I have a mother who is equally indignant when it comes to inserting scientific explanations into lifelong faith. For instance once several years ago I outright asked her if she believed in the Adam & Eve and the snake, Cain & Abel etc. and how the earth was created in 7 days, all those 'stories' we learn as children. She replied, "OF COURSE I BELIEVE THEM ... IT IS WHAT HAPPENED!!!".

End of discussion.

I'm sure that Mignon will in turn respect the desire of the rest of us to discuss the Big Bang in terms of how it actually happened, or is theorized to have happened. I've always found astronomy and this type of discussion absolutely fascinating!!

If you guys want to discuss the bing bang feel free I'm not gonna shove my faith down anybody's throat. Just because I don't believe in that theory or evolution doesn't mean someone else on the BB might.

That reminds me of a scene from one of the greatest movies ever made....Inherit the Wind.

"Give me that ol' time religion,
Give me that ol' time religion,
Give me that ol' time religion,
It's good enough for me."

-What is the "old time religion" ?

I don't think so. This is the general discussion forum, so we can discuss things here, all things. That one believes rock solid in something doesn't mean it can't be discussed. And by discussing I don't mean 'trying to convince others'/ 'showing other people's views are "wrong"'. Mignon believes what she wants to believe, I and no one else are in position to have something against her for that. However, that doesn't mean we can't discuss, or ask about what she believes. I for one, asked some things about her theory (only out of information), but never judged.
And of course, no one is ever obliged to answers questions here...

Like SC already said

reminds me of the old joke about a man speaking with God:

Man: Lord, in Your vastness, an eternity to us is only a minute to You.
God: Yes, it is so.
Man: And Lord, in Your greatness, what is a magnificent fortune to us is only a nickel to You.
God: Yes, it is so.
Man: Then Lord, will You give me, Your humble servant, a nickel.
God: Certainly. Just a minute.

Enzo, allow me to clarify that post. By 'End of Discussion', I was referring to the 'discussion' with my mother I was telling about. When she answered in the way she did, I knew then it was the end of OUR discussion.

Best,

Apparently, you did...since in your reply you failed to include THIS statement from the same post:

"...I'm sure that Mignon will in turn respect the desire of the rest of us to discuss the Big Bang in terms of how it actually happened, or is theorized to have happened..."

Ah, well...the topic seems to have run its course now, anyway
