I just started reading this a few days ago, and I'm about halfway done. Man, what a page turner!!!! That Joe Pistone has a pair of cajones the size of Brooklyn!

I must say, it's a fascinating look into the real Mafia. I would never say I feel sorry for any of them after reading what I have so far, but they sure are a sorry lot. I can't understand why anyone would want to live like that.

Of course, now I'm going to have to watch the movie when I'm done reading the book. I hope it's at least half as good.

Is the book based on the film or is the film based on the book.

I believe the movie is based on the novel.

Well, I woke up this mornin', and I got myself a beer. The future's uncertain but the end is always near....

Is it fiction or non? I'm not sure why, but I thought it was a true story.

I believe it is a book written about a true story, much like Gangland: ... is.

It is very much a true story, written from Donnie Brasco's/Joe Pistone's perspective. I just finished it last night. A must read!!!!

Great book! From start to finish the only time i put the book down was to go get something to drink.
I just have one question...is that contract still out on him?

I would say it probably is. What he did doesn't seem to me that they would take away the contract.

persoally, I read the book b4 I saw the movie and I understood the movie better for it. I don't thik it's the kind of movie you can read the book after...
