Yes, the book had lots of details that weren't in the movie (not that there's anything wrong with the movie, far from it). In addition to those you quoted, I liked the tale of Paulie busting up a restaurant 'cause he didn't like the way he was treated (how many times have you wanted to do the same?); and how Henry had to get circumsized in order to marry Karen, and walked around with a diaper for months. Remember that scene in the movie when Karen asks Henry for money to go shopping? Henry takes gives her a pile of greenbacks, and Karen, apparently grateful, bends down...you hear a zipper being unzipped...maybe she was checking his diaper?
