Yes, the book was first published in 1928, written by Herbert Asbury. Recently reissued in paperback. It probably has very little to do with the movie. The book is a history of all the gangs whereas the film will be a story focusing on a few probably fictional charicters. Oh yes, and their obligatory love interests. Just as they managed to turn the sinking of the Titanic into a love story with Leonardo, they will probably do something similar with Gangs.
That F*cking DiCrapio
The onl movi ethat WASN'T a lov estory was the little retard in Gilbert Grape.
great movie becuase.....DiCrapio DOESN'T fall in love with anything but a watertower! lol
You know, now that i think about it. The book sounds more interesting than the movie. First of all, i think having opposite lovers is so overrated. Second, if it does turn into more of a love story than what the title says, then i'll just wait until it comes out on cable (it also saves me time and money). And third, let's just say i'm not one of Leo's biggest fans.
Hahaha. I saw that movie ("What's eating Gilbert Grape?") like a few weeks ago and i thought Leo played a great mentally challenged person =) The falling in love with a water tower line was funny. Haha.
