Though Brando's first Academy Award was for 'On The Waterfront', I have to agree that his most memorable 'younger' role was that of Stanley Kowalski in 'Streetcar'. The absolute perfect contrast to Vivien Leigh's dainty, fragile yet snobbish/phony Blanche. What a team they made!!! Their final scene together, where he screams 'HAAAA HAAA' right into her face is one that still gives me chills every time. I'm always flumoxed that he didn't get the Oscar for that...until I remind myself that the Best Actor winner for that year (1951) was Humphrey Bogart for 'The African Queen'...every bit as enjoyable and deserving a performance.

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
