I enjoy The Godfather I & II. Goddfellas is good too. I really can't put a finger on a favorite. I just enjoy watching those type of flicks.

Then Godfather I, then goodfellas, then GF II, then CASINO.

Oh, and is Pulp Fiction considered a mafia movie?

Scareface is definetly not a mob movie. But the best mob movies are The Godfather and Goodfellas. The narrative alone by Ray Liotta lifted Goodfellas.

The most accurate film about the mafia is Goodfellas. It is good but I still think The Godfather is the most recognized and creative mob movie created. Everything from the script, plots, costumes, cast, director and film score was supurb.

I can't choose only ONE film. I love the 3 GF films and Once Upon a Time in America more than the others I've seen.

Yes, Scarface, the De Palma version, is NOT a mob movie. Tony Montana is alone, he's a business man and has no organized mob which whacks ppl on his orders, he "just" make business with cocaine. On the contrary, the original Scarface from 1932 WAS a mafia movie.

Goodfellas rocks my vote for the best mob movie. Don't get me wrong, I love the Godfather like a fucking maniac, but I just LOVE Goodfellas... I've seen Goodfellas fifty two fucking times!!!

GF trilogy is my all-time favorite. But "Goodfellas" is the best Mob movie. I think of GF Trilogy as a film about a family's evolution, with the Mafia as a defining milieu. But I don't think of it as a "Mob" movie per se. To make an analogy: "Gone With the Wind" is a film about a family's evolution, with the Civil War as a defining milieu. But it isn't a Civil War movie.

Hi Guinea,

I agree that GF 1 & 2 are the best and probably will never be topped!!!! . But I've learned to "never say never" in life.

However, saying that, it's been over 25 years later and I still haven't seen a "gangster" movie, (Or possibly any movie) that excels in every aspect (Direction/Producing/acting/musical score, etc.) that comes anywhere near exceeding the GF.

The Godfather, followed by GoodFellas. I haven't seen GF2 for sooooooooooooo long, so Casino would be over it too. I don't think The Godfather will ever be topped.

How can you top Goodfellas and The Godfather, but I have to say I was disappointed in Casino, so many parts in it seem to come right out of the Goodfellas script.
