Welcome, Younggotti and Cara!
The GF Trilogy is my all-time favorite film collection. But I don't count the films as "mob" movies per se. I think of the Trilogy as a family saga, with the Mafia as a defining milieu, but it's not strictly speaking a Mafia trilogy. To make an analogy: "Gone With the Wind" is a story about a family, with the Civil War as a defining milieu. But it's not a Civl War movie.
That said, "Goodfellas" is the best Mob movie.

Junior Soprano: Tony, if you're gonna lie to me, tell me there's a broad in the car waiting to tongue my balls.

Got to vote for, in order GF1, GF2, Goodfellas, GF3.

Goodfellas is my best too after the GF movies. I agree with our man Turnbull tho that they are a family saga more than a mafia film

Goodfellas has all the best, often recited lines too

Paul I would go with your list all the way, but, I have never seen Gotti, but will if I ever got the chance

Hi,
I liked Gotti due to the fact some of the members of the Sopranos are in it. Tony Sirico, Dominic Chianese, and Vincent Pastore appear in various roles throughout the movie.

My list is...

1. The Godfather, Part One
2. GoodFellas
3. The Godfather, Part Two
4. Once Upon A Time In America
5. Casino

I'm wanting to put The Godfather, Part Three... But, I dunno... I think those are worthy to score higher.

Well, of course this can be difficult, I can make an impulse type of list.

1. The Godfather Trilogy
2. Road to Perdition (may seem pre-mature, but Mendes was great).
3. Bugsy
4. Goodfellas (seems to get even stronger in parts each time I get to catch it).

I also love The Untouchable, but I don't consider that a crime film, I consider it a police epic like Spartacus meets The Godfather kind of thing. The Sopranos also rules, as a TV show.

Great question! My favorite would have to be Goodfellas or Casino. I liked the Godfather's, but I don't think that they compare to Goodfellas or Casino!

The Godfather I & II beyond all...

To chose between Goodfellas and Casino, I wouldn't know which one to pick. There are some similarities. I don't know.

I saw two movies about John Gotti, "Gotti" and "Witness to the mob" by Robert deNiro producing. They are good. Another one: "Hoodlum" about Dutch Schultz.

Carlito's Way and Scarface with Pacino.

And (if it is a mob movie): Analyze This, I'm really looking forward to Analyze That. (the first one was better than Mafia! with Christina Applegate)

Not a mob movie, but a crime movie: The Usual Suspects, my all time favorite.

sorry. still liked the movie, dude! :p

it's been a while since I saw it, and never seen it after, in a period when I saw a lot of movies, so pardon me. not a mob movie, but a gangster picture tough, right?

Hi,
Heat is also a Crime film. The shootout between DeNiro and Pacino is one for the record books.

would you think the shootout was more memorable than the only dialogue scene of Pacino & DeNiro in movie history?

Hi,
I meant the bank shootout. Pacino and DeNiro with machine-guns. They must have fired over a thousand rounds. Tom Sizemore was also in the movie. He was Gotti in Witness To the Mob and if you look at him long enough he actually looks like Gotti.

Believe it or not, Road to Perdition is my all time favorite.

What is there to sing about? There is singing when babies are baptized, when you celebrate a marriage. Men sing as they work. Soldiers sing as they march into battle. And there is singing when people die.
