Paultot OP Wiseguy Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 29 Scotland	I love films set in the 40's and 50's - they ooze style - the suits, the cars, the guns! A lot of films set in the 60's and 70's appear quite sleazy and grim (not a sweaping generalisation - just an observation) A lot of movies set in the 80's have a real naff fealing to them - mobile phones (sorry cell phones for our US cousins), the size of house bricks etc. Does anyone else have a favourite era and why? "Consiglierie of mine, I think you should tell your don what everyone seems to know....." "you think I'm funny?......." "I'm sorry did I break your concentration?"

Mafia films--I like to be set in the 40's and 50's, at the peak of the Cosa Nostra. But, normal crime/gangster films, excluding the MAFIA, just a mob movie--a.l.a. Scarface, Taxi Driver, Pulp Fiction, ect.--I like to be set in the 80's or 90's. the power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it. george bernard shaw
