Well guys I'm huge fan of Robert De Niro and yet I can't find a role of his which I consider the best. I would say his worst role would be in "A Bronx Tale" while his best role is a tie between, "Godfather 2" and "Casino". What do you think?

Actually worst De Niro movie is a tie between "a Bronx Tale" and "Showtime".

It's such a chilling performance, it sends chills up my spine every time I watch it. Be sure to see that one. Also, as F5A said, look out for Pesci's role in Raging Bull, as it is astounding, as well!

Just watched "Raging Bull". De Niro was absolutely amazing, this was probably his best role. I change my Best to Raging bull from GF 2.

I really didn't like A Bronx Tale. It wasn't that DeNiro's acing was bad but his part was so limited that he couldn't do much with it. The movie itself was awful but on top of that it dragged DeNiro down with it.

A Bronx Tale is a terrible movie. It's very predictable and boring. The ideas was terrible and predictable, the acting was awful with the exception of one or two people. Back to the DeNiro subject, an actor should know what roles to take and what roles not to accept and in my opinion a Bronx Tale was one acting job he shouldn't have taken.

Just saw Midnight Run again, hmm I forgot about this one. It's a good preformance... Not the best but pretty good.

Seems like wether Raging Bull or Taxi driver is his best performance is a very controversial subject... I'd go for Taxi Driver. Worst would be Analyse That (the second one)

Best roles: Young Vito Corleone in Godfathe 2. Others would be Noodles from Once Upon a Time in America and Jimmy the Gent Conway in Goodfellas.
Worst role: Al Capone in The Untouchables.

I'm astounding that very few to none mentioned Mean Streets.
Raging Bull would probably edge out for me, but I adore him in TGF Part II, The Deer Hunter, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver and of course, Mean Streets. His performance in A Bronx Tale certainly isn't bad. I liked it, as it was a different perspective to what we're normally seeing him in.
