hi guys, lucky luciano from the scarface board.. i got this assignment on crime/organized crime books, and i am not too sure about wut to do, because i dont read a lot of these kind of books. well heres the assignment. any pieces of information will help me a great deal.
your presenation must include the following components (some which may be merged or subdivided, dpeneding on the particular circumstances of ur genre):
1. a history of the genre, this might include: - early practitioners - who were the first writers recognized as being part of this genre? - chronological history of the gnre. you might start as far back as biblical or classical origins, if applicable - who published the information, where is it available? - where is it available now - leading books, magazines and internet sources?
2. leading practitioners, i.e who are the "stephen kings" of the genre? - short biographies of the leading writers as well as bibliographies - include discussion of what makes the writer unique within the genre - what are the various literary (and other) forms that have been/are being used in the genre i.e poetry, short stories, novels, films, etc.
3. conventions or characteristics that distinguish the genre - what are the criteria for inclusion in this genre? (hint: you should check current publications in the area to see what their criteria for manuscript submission are).
PLEASE IF U HAVE ANY INFO JUSS REPLY.. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
