And you are still wrong.

Though it would appear Fredo learned his lesson after his betrayal being discovered and then FORGIVEN by Michael...the very fact that he was 'not smart enough' made him a great harm to the family. Mike couldn't take the chance that his dimwit brother would fall prey to another enemy at some point in the future.

Fredo had to go.
