Mind you, its not about what WE would do, its about what Michael did. The 1st 2 films were about the damning of Michaels soul, from civilian to mafia boss. The 2nd film was a good continuation of the 1st. He became more and more darker, but that was the point. MIchael started the 2nd film quite amiable, speaking warmly with Tom after the assasination attempt, being patient with plantangeline ("The old man had too much wine") in contrast to hes later self. Not sure we're supposed to like what he ended up doing, he wasnt being set up to be admired.
