Anastasia, known for his brutality, was an awesome figure (somewhat like Luca Brasi), but he was around when many other heavyweights still held, or were seeking, power. (Luciano, behind the scenes, Vito Genovese and Frank Costello all come to mind). For the overall most powerful boss ever (considering those who consolidated their power) you'd have to go with Carlo Gambino.

My favorites would have to be Gotti (he wasn't the greatest boss, but I liked his personality), Carlo Gambino (he kept himself out of prison He was a smart boss), and Luciano (my favorite boss ever).
People can change! "A f****in jerk like me. Never had nothing in my life. That's not John Gotti. At least I hope that's not me. Maybe I see myself in a light that I'm not in, I don't know."-John Gotti about greed "We only kill each other."-Benjamin Siegel "There's no such thing as good money or bad money. There's only money."-Lucky LucianO R.I.P Mr. Gotti

Salvatore Riina, Bernardo Provezano and Carlo Gambino
Contrary to popular belief, Unix is userfriendly. It just happens to be selective about who it makes friends with.
