I searched some sights earlier this week. a few had said that there are 26 Mafia families in total throughout this country. But what I would like to know if that includes Irish Mobs and Jewish gangs? Or are the 26 Mafia Families all Italians. Because it wouldn't say.

It's fun to stay in the YMCA
For every major city in the USA supposably there was (in their prime) a mafia family of Italian nature. Except NY which we know has 5. So it's probably true. Don't count on that being 26 anymore though. I've read of quite a few being destroyed in some cities.

Right, Turi! When was the book published, BofB? If it's more than ten years old, I bet the 26 number is high by today's count. Also, if they were talking strictly about "Mafia" families, it wouldn't include any other ethnic gangs. Asian gangs represent the big numbers today.

TG? I know there isn't 26 anymore but used to be. The Feds have cracked down on them so hard that some were forced to move there businesses or disband.

TB? I had no idea there was a Book about them. I just read some old site that there were 26 total Mob families in the country. I just didn't know that included Jewish or Irish Mobs.
