I live in New York, and there is a lot of stuff that goes on in Suffolk County, Long Island. I read stuff about Sinderella's Place in Brentwood, gambling operations in Hauppauge, some stuff in Bayshore.
Suffolk County is really starting to be moved in on, been like this for 15-20+ years now.
Off the record, a good friend of mine is opening a club in the Nassau/Suffolk County area and has already has already been confronted, but I won't say more then that.
La Cosa Nostra is far from dead, and although you don't hear much in the news (compared to the 80s - early 90s) with cases like with John Gotti ... La Cosa Nostra is simply the way it is supposed to be, a "secret society".
You aren't supposed to hear much about them, because it's supposed to be secret. Sure, when you compare it to times when all you read in the papers were about John Gotti and stuff, it ain't to big ... but it's not supposed to be.
