Tony,

Lord knows I don't belong on this thread, but once again will guess. You say he got to know a mobster. I'll take a shot....Frank Sinatra?

Ok, ok, maybe I can't get lucky twice.

Young Meyer Lansky said it to young Charlie Luciano.
Q. Who was the mentor of Meyer Lansky, Charlie Luciano and Frank Costello?

A. I'm thinking it was Arnold Rothstein.

If so then here's my question.

Q.It's a 2 parter. Part one how many children did John Gotti and his wife have? 2nd part what happened to one of his children?

Iceman was right, Arnold Rothstein was mentor to Luciano, Lansky and Costello.
Gotti had three kids: Vicki (author), John Jr. (professional dunce), Frank (accidentally killed by neighbor's car).
Q. Although Joe Bonanno was not arrested at the Apalachin meeting, the police said they arrested him. What caused that mistake?

Turnbull you might be right probably are. But I always thought John Gotti had 5 kids. 2 girls, and 3 boys the youngest of which died.

Iceman, I stand (partially) corrected: Gotti had four kids. The one I missed was a daughter, Angela.
Question about Bonanno and Apalachin still stands.

Gaspare DiGregorio was caught at the party/meeting and had none of his own ID on his person.

Instead he had Joe drivers license, which Joe had asked his brother in law to renew, for him when he went to Sicily.

Gaspare was identified as Bonanno, although Bonanno claims he was not present.

Q. This long time Bonanno capo died of a heart attack druing a celebretory dinner after Joes apearance after his kidanpping/disapearance.

Joseph Notaro.
Q. Who was the first Don of what is now the Genovese family who wasn't Siclian?
(Note to Mike's Bodyguard: Do you think that DiGregorio was the model for the joke about the guy who was drummed out of the Mafia for stupidity--they sent him to blow up a car, he burned his lips on the tailpipe? )

Sure enuff...unfortuantely for Bonanno he was relatively unkown to most of the other people in NYC when his jelousy was used by Steve Magadino to challange Bonanno's leadership when Joe tried to plant Bill in his administration.

Maseria then Luciano then Costello then Genovese...Vito was not Sicillian, nor was Costello, Charlie was and I would belive the Joe the Boss was as well so my guess would be that it was Costello.

Q. This powerfull Profaci capo went by the nick name "Jiggs"?

Vincent (the Chin) Gigante.
Q. How did Bugs Moran die?
(Note to plawrence on Columbo's "legit" job: The NYTimes interviewed Columbo's nominal boss, Joseph Cantalupo, who owned the realty company that employed him, and asked how a lowly real estate salesman like Columbo could earn enough money to buy a lavish country estate. "Mr. Columbo has the sincerest group of customers," Cantalupo replied. "No one ever tries to cheat him out of a commission." )
