Sorry about my answer to the other question that you posted TB, I totally misunderstood the question. As for your Gravano Question : I believe that he was with the Columbos. However he was not happy there and someone from the Gambino family actually had to pay for him to be released from the Columbos. I will not post a question until you tell me if what I remember is correct. Don Cardi

Gambino had at least three addresses in Brooklyn and I'm not so sure that Navy Street was one of them. Gambino lived in The Bronx (604 E. 182nd St.) when he married his wife in 1926. Shortly after that he moved to the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn and changed his address there twice in the next few years (1692 83rd St. and 8302 17th Ave.). He eventually ended up on Ocean Parkway (2230 O.P.) where he spent the last years of his life. I THINK thats the answer Turnbull was going for.

SC - Wasn't it Vito Genovese? He died of a heart attack in prison but they suspected that he was poisoned. If my answer is correct, then I forfiet my turn to Turnbull and his question stands. Turnbull's Question - Which world-famous American singer died in Italy--supposedly killed on orders from a Mafia Don? Don Cardi

I don't think Genovese was exhumed from his grave for an additional autopsy either. Let me give two hints towards the answer I think is correct: 1. The FBI taped two wiseguys talking about this death and their claim that it was orchestrated by Joe Bonnano. 2. It happened a month after John Kennedy was killed.

Well done, SC and DSC! I stand corrected... Repeat: Q. Which world-famous American singer died in Italy--supposedly killed on orders from a Mafia Don?

I'm getting a bit of stimulation (ahem!) to post the answer to this question, so here goes: A. Mario Lanza. The famous operatic tenor and movie star had his career cut short by heart problems and continuous battles with obesity. He moved to Italy in the late Fifties. Periodically, he underwent a bizarre weight reduction treatment that put him into an induced coma for weeks at a time. He died during his last treatment, in 1959. The story went around that Charlie Luciano had asked Lanza to sing for him at some affair or occasion, and Lanza refused. So, the story goes, Luciano arranged for Lanza's doctors to make sure he didn't survive the treatment. Q. Which Mafia guy had Frank Sinatra as the singer at his daughter's wedding?
