Another alleged source of "Lucky": he narrowly escaped being whacked by Vincent (Mad Dog) Coll on orders from Salvatore Maranzano. In fact, Meyer Lansky's assassins were murdering Maranzano even as Coll was on his way up to Maranzano's office to get his last instructions before going after Luciano.
