Of course it would be better than nothing, but I don't think it would be better than the scene in the book. That was more authentic, realistic. Don himself would never do it of course, and Mike was not obsessed with any mania. He was smart and sober enough not to put himself in any danger and to send a professional to do the job, howewer personal it might be. The scene in the book is so wonderfully written and
directed , that you have only to shoot it - and it would be exactly what was needed. But FFC is so creative, you know, he has to change everything in the most melodramatic way.
