Hello everyone! I am new one to this board, so forgive me for any potential flaws in myw writing. I've been these forums for a very long time, BTW.

I think a prequel would ideal, in my opinion. A prequel to THE GODFATHER, with Don Vito in the middle stage of his life, where he rose to power, following his early "DeNiro" begginings in THE GODFATHER PART II and preluding his quiet "Brando" days in THE GODFATHER. It would be ideal.

Also, as I think DeNiro would be too old or too uninterested in reprising his award-winning role, I'd propose another man for the job:

Edward Norton

I think he's a brilliant actor. He could play Don Vito as a 40-45 year old pretty convincingly. For the rest of the cast, I don't really know, but I do know that Coppola should be invovled in the screeptwriting process of the film. And directing, while Coppola is an excellent director, this prequel, as it details Corleone's rise to power, should be handled by none other, than:

Martin Scorcece

His sensibility and fondness with New York should provide with positive results.

Its all a rough idea, but it could be done.

What do you think?

A man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man.
