It seems to me if James Gandolfini left The Sopranos, it would be dead anyway. Chase swears season 5 is the last. How do you guys think a series doing a prequel to The Sopranos would go over? It could start with Johnny Boy's days, follow Tony into young gangsterdom and his marriage to Carmela, then maybe end when A.J. and Meadow are still babies. You think it'd be successful, or would it be too much of a good thing? (Throw in any casting ideas, too!)

kinda like wishful thinking for some godfather fans making a part 4 lol. Would be nice to see another season of Sopranos though, and I think it could be pretty successful if David Chase just adds the same element he does with The Sopranos. Good story lines, good characters, and all in all a good show. Sadly though I dont think this brilliant idea will ever make it to the show  .

A prequel would be great if it were to be made after Season 5, however i doubt it will, Most viewers would prolly stop watching when they realise there favorite actors and characters are gone (Not us hardcore Fans of course  ) its life i guess

That's a shame, Paul. Chase is, of course, the creator, and he's written some terrific episodes. However, there have been episodes written by others which are equally good. You comrades are probably right, though...it'll probably be kaput after season 5. A prequel would be great, but as y'all have said, probably not going to happen.
