Wasn't Neri with Michael when he's going to the hotel room in Vegas before he meets Fredo and Moe Green?

Also, wasn't there a deleted scene after the big meeting with Michael and Vito and the boys where' Vito tells Michael, "Looks like you've found your Luca Brasi". Wasn't he referring to Neri?

1. If you're thinking of the guy in the hotel room with the blue turtleneck, he wasn't Neri.
2. "Looks like you've found yoiur Luca Brasi" is a line from the novel. No deleted scene contains that line.

Thanks Turnbull. Just out of curiosity I wondered who it could be walking in the hallway towards the hotel room, so I looked at the script on Geoff's website. This is what is says.

DISSOLVE TO: Las Vegas hotel. A limo drives to the entrance, and Fredo and Michael get out

DISSOLVE TO: Fredo, Michael, Hagen, Neri, Rocco and bellboys walk towards a hotel room

Hmmm....could this be an error in the script? Or do we have another, "Is that Rocco eating chinese food" question?

Neri is on-screen BEFORE the Vegas trip. He's present at the meeting when Mike meets with Tessio and Clemenza (telling them to be patient).



BTW - Neri WAS in Vegas with Mike, but Rocco wasn't.

That's the scene I'm thinking of. I didn't think I was going crazy. (well...at least not about this).

The scene with "your Luca Brasi" line was in the script, but never filmed.
BTW, The meeting was after the Vegas trip... Or it is something wrong with my own processor ?

I'm thinking that beings this meeting was Vito "introducing" Michael more or less as the new Don, and the meeting in Vegas Michael is already assuming power, and I think Tom is just the lawyer, I'm assuming the Vegas trip was after this meeting. It's been awhile since I've watched the movie.

At least in the book it is absolutely after. Mike comes from Vegas, and tells Kay he has to spend the evening telling his father and capos about the results of his trip. I believe it must be after, I cannot be that tired today out of my wits.

I dont know about the DVD but the SAGA contains that scene.
After Tom is leaving the room and they are finally alone,Vito tells Michael "Looks like you found your Luca Brasi" .
Michael replies "Im gonna need him".
