if you are wondering why i put Sonny as a body guard to the boss...I think Sonny is very smart, but his temper controls his descions, I can't make him a capo for that reason alone. All he is destined for is to be a bodyguard to the Don. And even though I read it it as well in GFR, i made Carlo his brother in law the other bodyguard simply because he and Sonny Do not get along so they will not plot agaisnt the Don together, and if one starts acting funny then the other one will be more willing to turn him into the Don.
Tony S as underboss-tocome any man of honor in these days you have to be inteligent, and a good earner, to become the head of a jersey crime family you have to be that and ruthless, I'd say he makes a nice oppisite to Don Corleone's quiet stares.
the last choice I made that I would care to explain is this Captain of Captains. just one more buffer fir Corleone. mike gives his orders to either Sil, or Tony S. who then relay the message to Pete Clemenza who chooses who does the job and in what manner. He then informs the Capo of the crew for which he has selected the job to be done. and then they organize the Job to Pete's specifications, besides I am sure clemenza is older and loyal, he shoukld be given a job that get's him off the street but still makes him money and a title of respect.

So i went ahead and read your family list too, and the only people you have on it not for The godfather is Tony S. After seeing this I think I can understand your issues with my family. You choose mostly godfather people for your family, I chose to use people from both Television shows. When I have more people to pick from using Sonny as a bodyguard makes sense. you are right Sonny has skills at organizing and running a war, and being he is so close to my Don if the time comes for a call to arms My Bodyguard will be ready to go. I need protection for the Upper crust of the family I think a geneius of organization is the best to have in a postion that relies on plans going thru as planned. Someone with Sonny's Knowhow and mind can organize, and protect his don as mistake free as human possible.

Sonny is the Don's brother, not only that his older brother, the need to protect his younger brother will motivate him. being that the Don has his brother as his top guy is one less issue he has to take into consideration when making plans...I make Tony S the underboss to keep everyone happy, a different view of the world than just a long island one.

3. You made a good point about Sonny that I'd like to touch on. You said that using Sonny in the capacity I was was wasting his talents(which you describe as organizng and fighting wars) well as far as i am concerned and i think even your Don would agree, War is not the way to run business. Why put a man who is more quick to goto War then ones that will reason their way out of war so Business stay strong and everyone makes money. Don Vito himself Said Sonny would never have made a good Boss. I want a man who will think b4 he speaks and not let emotion guide his hand, and a man prone to war is not in control of his emotions. I want prosperity and peace, not war and that is why Santino will never have more power. If war breaks out then I have him close to the don to organize our fight, but otherwise his attention to detail, and organizational skills compliment his other skills in line for the top Hammer or bodyguard postion.

What is actually the difference between an underboss and a capo?
My guess is that a capo gets the order from the consigliere, so that the capo is never fysically with the don, when the don gives an order.
And the underboss can be with the don. So that level 1: Don, and level 2: Underboss and consigliere level 3: Capo
But underboss and capo both have regular soldiers underneath them.

That's my hypothesis. Is it correct?
Oh, and what's right under a soldier, in terms of ranking? A buttonman? A wiseguy?

The Underboss is the Boss on the street or next in line.while the Capo is the captain of a crew in the family
