Oh well, sorry I have a life  I missed a week while in Colorado. It's hard to get back on track after missing a whole damn week (ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAD KANSAS CITY PITCHING STAFF!!! Oh, the horror. )

Anyway, basketball is not a sport.

But how come you didn't name your team "The Baltimore Crab Cakes"?

First time I think I've been told I have "spirit". People usually aren't that nice. In case you have noticed, I'm a glutton for punishement.

What? You don't like my name? I figured I'd change my initials from bb to cc. See if that brings me any luck.

You have plenty of spirit. Not too many gals I know would take a solo trip up to the Big Apple, and trust two guys that she knew from an internet message board to be her guide.

But I'm not like most girls. Didn't Doucheman call me "unique". Most people would call me crazy. But I guess it helps if you find 2 gentlemen, (one of whom make it clear he's not there to see your pom poms).

Well, well......

I have added my hat into this basketball league.

Not because I know anything about basketball, but because I see you need a few more people to make this thing come alive. I had some fun with the baseball league and have enjoy the Football, which only takes a small bit of time each week.

Now, I know crap about B-Ball and don't even have a clue on who is who in most cases, so I do except some extra crap from SOME of you folks who do. It will be interesting to see how a person with no knowledge does against you folks who do follow the sport. Something to gauge by.

In fact I have to say that this BB board has gotten rather dull for me and I have spent less and less time here. There are some strange people or kids out there and I have found that there is almost nothing worth reading or replying to on most threads. Is it just me or do others feel the same way?

I always enjoyed the close knit group during baseball and hope things here may be the same. Trash talk and ball busting included.

There is not much chatter with the football. I guess a league that is every day makes it more interesting and makes people log on each day.

For better or worst, I have started!

You knew something about baseball, Mr. Fun-da-Mentals??!! :p Just joking, FS... I was wondering where you were in the league.

Don't get excited, I'm not joining. Just curious, do you lose points if your player is arrested for drugs, rape, murder, assault, carrying a concealed weapon, contracting an STD, giving an STD or wearing too much jewelry?

I don't know about those things but I do know that we will get extra points for every illegitimate child and the amount of times they refer to themselves in the third person.

Is that info listed on the cheat sheets? I wonder if Kobe gets one point for every court appearance.

Two questions....

1) You talkin' to me?

2) Is the "except" in the above quote supposed to be
a) "accept", as in "I accept some extra crap" or
b) "expect", as in "I expect some extra crap"

Either fits, so I was just wondering......
:p

(Why wait for the season to start. Let's begin having fun now!)

I choose B. FS "expects" some crap from some/one of us! :p

I just noticed... it's possible to have negative points in this thing, but unlikely. A player has to be really off to get negative points.

Whheew.

Why yes, the answer is B- and as you can tell it has already started with my first post of the thread!

That is ok, I wouldn't expect anything less from PEE-Lawrence. Rumor has it that he is friendless as he has driven most of the people he comes in contact away! and now spends his social life online.

By the way let us look and see how Pee is doing in that manly game of Fantasy Football. I hope B-Ball is your real game as you are the one that started this league, is it the hunger for something to do and people to be with?

You don't have to look. I'll be the first to admit I'm doing crap.

My real game is baseball. I know a lot more about it than I do basketball, although, as you may know, the only team I have an emotional attachment to is my New Jersey Nets.

And, yeah. I started this league because I missed the comraderie of the baseball season, just as you said you did.

I have a burning question that's not related to football.

How many people here think our new Basketball Coach, the high rolling, Atlantic City wiz kid, looks like Sammy Farha? Are you holding out on us plaw?

Sammy Farha??? I thought you said he looks like Tom Jones...

Anyway, basketball fans jump in! Fantasy season starts today!

Also, for the new players, if you got any technical questions, ask FS- he's our Mr. Fun-da-mentals!

He still has that ole Tom Jones swagger.

*What's new pussycat??

I saw Sammy on tv on the World Series of Poker with that cigarette hanging out of his mouth and I had to do a double take. Maybe that's why plaw is so absent lately. If I would have known he was a poker shark I would have ordered more then the Linguine with Crab Meat for dinner.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

The season starts tomorrow. Your roster must be selected by 3:00 am EST Tuesday morning.

Please note:

1--Be sure you don't go over the 100 point "salary cap"
2--Only players with an opponents name listed next to them are playing on a given day.
3--If Fantasy Baseball is a guide, the generally accepted strategy is to make sure that you select a roster each day consisting of only players who are playing on that given day. Since basketball teams only play 3-4 games a week, I can't envision a situation where you would want to hold onto a guy who isn't playing simply because you have him "locked in" at a low salary cap value.
