Interesting day tomorrow. It's absolutely impossible to come anywhee near using up the salary cap, and it looks like everyone will be picking pretty much the same players.

That's what I don't like about this game compared to baseball. Baseball, all 30 teams play almost every day so there are plenty of choices.

In this game, it's a rare day when anyone picks players other than the usual suspects.

Borrrrring. I may not play next year. Seriously.

Be thankful I had him too. There was a point last night when I was monkeying with today's roster that I had Yao on my team.

I was scared when I heard about Wallace being ejected. Boy am I relieved to hear almost everyone had him.

What happened to Pork?

I thought it was a nice touch of minimalism there, plaw!

If you want some sort of Shakespearean tragedy, here you go:

O Wallace, Wallace! wherefore art thou Wallace?
Deny thy Nene and refuse thy Hughes;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my team,
And I'll no longer be a Bigelow!

Maybe I could get Pat to recite some Tupac lyrics!

Sure was -16 below zero this morning.Right now they say it is -12 at the airport and -8 in the city. Wind chill will be -20 to -25 below today.

Kids are off from school yesterday and again today. Let us hear it for the mail people of the great cold north. Going door to door in this weather.

Who's winning?

Oh, just what you needed. Inquiries from someone who isn't even playing.

Nice poem Douchey. Can you write one titled "Buffy is my sports goddess"? Like you mean it, though.

Carry on folks and folkettes. I actually watched the NC game last night on tv at the gym. I actually love to watch basketball though mostly live. How many games late would I be?

How 'bout some Haiku instead?

Ejected Wallace.
How badly did my team do?
Should have taken Yao.

Why don't you start parcticing today, and starting Monday I'll run two separate standings every morning. One cumlative, and one beginning Monday Jan 19 as if it were the start of a new season.

I'll even leave you out of the cumlative standings, so no one will see you in last place, and you'll start off on Monday at "zero" with everyone else.

I know I used it for football, but here you go:

The Raven Basketball Redux:

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, "Wallace weary?"
Over many a quaint and curious ESPN ticker of basketball scores,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
Tis some visitor," I muttered, "rapping at my chamber door;
Only Patrick rapping "Tupac", and nothing more."

Ah, distinctly I remember, it was in the bleak December,
In first place I perched, I remember, wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; vainly I had sought to borrow
For Nene and Hughes only brought me sorrow, sorrow for the lost High Score,
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name High Score,
Nameless here for evermore.

No worries Bethie....kinda like dressing up the turkey all nice, shiny and pretty and then wolfing it down in one sitting at Thanksgiving.

I'd rather get my ass kicked in a sport I enjoy!!

You're on your own here, Crabby. I saw the pics plaw put up depicting you . Looks like YOU are the one that needs the buttah Yum.

You enjoy getting your ass kicked in a sport you enjoy. Does that include rough spanking?

Yes, did you like my pic? I'm a hard shelled hermit crab. PL needs to buttah me up or I might take my shell elsewhere.

You gonna take your longicarpus with you?

And BTW, it's a perk of the Commissioner's office to spell practice 'parctice', or butter with 3 t's.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to spread more 'buttter' out Buffy's way. Along with the perks come duties and responsibilities, among them trying to attract more players.

OK. Here's the deal (I'm gonna make her an offer she can't refuse):

As of right now, Buff, you owe me two dinners. To recap:

Last year, 49ers over Giants, you won
First half fantasy baseball, I won
Second half fantasy baseball, I won
Total points for season, fantasy baseball, I won
Fantasy football, you won
Pigskin Pick 'Em, I won

If you join the basketball league, play the rest of the first half and the entire second half, I will call it even. You don't even have to win.
