Lets bump this. Season's right around the corner, as well as college. I don't think the Bucks are going to be that good this year. They don't have a real scoring threat and still lack an inside presence. Does everyone else think that the Lakers are the favorites, or that there's other teams to watch? I think Kobe Bryant's troubles will no doubt distract him and the team. In the East, it's going to be the Nets or the Pistons.

I think that San Antonio should still be favored until some other team proves otherwise.

I am a DIEHARD Rockets Loyalist as well as a DIEHARD Yao Ming Loyalist. This season I am hoping the ROckets can make it to the playoffs. And maybe Yao can step it up against Shaq this season.

Pistons? Nah. NETS all the way. The home exhibition season starts next week--I'll have a report.

The team is for sale, and there's talk that if it's sold the new owners may want to move back to New York (Long Island, actually). They're saying that if the team moves, Kidd will ask for a trade

since the last season, I think the Kings are the best and the most enjoyable team in the league. I believe the Spurs just won the NBA last season because Webber and Nowitzki were injured. I mean, it's not their fault, it doesn't make the Spurs title less valuable, but I believe that.
This season, if you look all the starting lineups, no team can beat the Lakers. they have 4 all stars, and if they all play fine, the Lakers can make a better record than Chicago's 70-12.
But of course these troubles with Kobe Bryant can make him a little worse, Shaq is not the same monster he was some years ago, and Malone and Payton may not play as fine as they did when they owned their teams in Utah and Seattle.
the Mavs are amazing too, they have 7,8 great players, but I think they don't have a decisive player, a man that could give them the win with a last second shoot, so I don't think they can be the champions, at least if they keep having this decisive lack. My guess is that either the Lakers or the Mavs will win be first in the West, propably them both will be first spot in their divisions, but the Lakers and the Kings are the best playoff teams. I don't know why, I don't believe the Spurs...

In the East, I think (and I hope) the Pistons are the best team. I'm a Piston fan and I'm very excited with the new squad we have. but no east team can be champion.

I heard on PTI that he said if they move to Brooklyn he would be ok with it, but not LI.

i've got news for all of you, the nets aren't going to do shit this year. they've got no consistent center, shooting guard, or small forward. if kenyon martin or kidd have a bad game or get hurt, then they will lose. LETS GO SIXERS!

I also think the Nets won't be very good this year. They will make playoffs of course, but when they face Pistons, 76ers or Pacers, they will lose

If Alonzo Mourning is healthy, then I would say he's as good as any big man in the NBA.
