Lowe? I'm scared to death of Kim!!!

I had LA PS and a pretty decent lineup till about midnight last night when I figured just because my ass healed up nicely from the last time I kicked myself, I did not want to go against the grain again today and risk having to contort myself in that position to do so again....

But if Nomo has a good night tonight, well......

That's freaky. I was all set with my lineup yesterday also with the LA PS (expensive as it is) and was really happy with my offensive lineup- even with my low value guys. But when I saw the doubleheader, I had to mix it all up again.

I agree. I originally picked Pitts (I pick my PS first, then fill up my roster with the $ I have left). But after I saw I had 4 BoSox and 1 Pitts player, I figured I should switch. We'll see... (And yes, before the double-header, I was all set with Nomo, too)

And yeah, while I do like being atop Buffy, I figured I'd take a break again

I, too, had my lineup set before I found out about the doubleheader. I had the Florida PS. If the DH doesn't work out, you'll be reading this post tomorrow in quotes when I cry.

I liked the Pittsburgh PS better today, but I couldn't find enough offense with the Pirates. How can you pick one teams's PS, and then take the other team's offense?

And Beth...What should I call you if not a lady?

I usually make it a rule NEVER to do this very thing. Maybe I am just too superstitious but maybe there is a bit of logic in if you own a heavy hitter against your PS and your PS really blows it, you may get the points anyway from offense. It seems like it would be a wash to me so I never set out to do it - but I guess it could be considered "insurance" - better a wash than negative points?

You know me, once I get my mind set on something, I usually go for it, all OUT and all IN! :p

I believe in almost any case, it is almost a wash if someone in your lineup hits against your PS. I'm sure you all did the math, but here goes (this assumes no one else is on base):

Single: 1 base for offense; -1 for PS = 0
Double: 2 bases for O; -1 for PS= 1
Triple: 3 bases for O; -1 for PS=2
Homerun= 4 bases, 1 RBI, 1 Run for O; -3 for ER, -1 Hit= 2 points

I guess 2 points is better than nothing.

Of course it is But of course, too, the more runs against the PS, the greater the chance the PS will lose. I sometimes have a hitter against my PS (like today), and hope for extra-base hits, but no RBIs or runs scored from that player...

Hence why they call this game "Fantasy"

And when you are ahead of a heel-nipping Pork Chop by only 22 points, hell yeah 2 points is something!

Beth...

You're a sexy beast from Baltimore
And I'll tell you your one minor flaw:
(Even though Geoff has said
"Don't pollute this thread")
The same birthday as the 'ex' of P. Law.

(Admittedly, far from my best effort.)

Damn, that is pitiful.

You want poetry, too? Here:

That Buffy, she likes to talk "smack"
She looks forward, and that it is fact
But all she will see
When she does look at me
Is a view of P. Lawrence's back.

Here's my take:

Plaw is a guy from New York
Who is trying his best to beat Pork
With Buffy he talks smack
But she's sneaking up his back
Soon he won't be so cocky no more

The first game of the doubleheader has started.

Oh yea... This is going well. Already 1 - 0 Boston, bottom of the first. I think the first run was unearned though. Helps those who had Mueller though.

Game One is underway.

Not surprisingly, the top 3 have almost identical rosters. Not much change in scores can be expected overall tonight with us. My only hope is for Lowell to have another night like last night - because I don't think I can put all my hopes in scoring big with my little 2 million dollar fellas.

Yea, it will be interesting! Tonight will either tell if it is a four-person race (if I can make up some ground with my Pitt pick) or just you three. Or maybe it won't tell us anything if the doubleheader is a wash.

Wednesday (unofficial finals)

PL 2820 BoSox (14)+(18) 90 2910
LD 2618 BoSox (14)+(18) 86 2704
JG 2596 BoSox (14)+(18) 93 2689
DB 2548 Pitts (-16)+(-9) 10 2558
UU 2451 LA (22) 45 2496
OA 2316 Pitts (-16)+(-9) -10 2306
HH 2268 Yanks (4) 37 2305
BD 2247 San Fran (22) 55 2302
SC 2170 Seattle (24) 64 2234
JJ 0195 Seattle (24) 43 0238 < not 44?!

(BoSox/Pitts double-header) Wow, I've never seen such offense by a team before, like Boston tonight. Woohoo! BTW - The game isn't reporting Boston's PS scores correctly, so I've calculated them myself.

Just got back from PNC- or should I say the Boston Marathon. I think everyone on their roster got to round the bases tonight. Prolly cuz they pretty much had a home game tonight (u no its bad when the whole stadium in the burgh is chanting "Yankees Suck")

Is any1 herr from Boston. Whos the backup outfielder named Jackson- hes the frickin man. I sat right on the 3rd base line toward the corner so I's right over the left fielders. WE gave so Manny so much hell and he just stood ther w/ his hands on his nees & never even looked up once. Then they put this Jackson guy in for the last inning and he was sweet. he looked up and laughed at our insults & said shit to us- made our trash talking way more fun. The best though was when the pirates werr down to therr last out he turned to us and turned his hat inside out indicating the "rally cap" -- i thought it was hilarious. It showed me how much more fun the young no-name was having than the multi-millinaire

I put my faith in the bucos pitching today...and...well...i came up with -25 but thats aight- it was another good night at the park- i also have a newfound hatred for NewEnglanders(not really if u are 1)although the Pirate organization prolly loves em---beer sells tripled today.
