Wow DB - you give us numbers crunchers a bad name. I would have NEVER had the energy to even THINK about doing that!

#1 gets a 20-inch flat screen TV from ESPN. That'd look good on my desk...

My goal is to finish in the top 1000 for the second half. Hmmmm... I would say about 962... I know, I know, my goal should be to be #1, but c'mon now... I don't have time to research if Brook Fordyce catches Jason Johnson every other Wednesday and is absolutely on fire whenever he plays home games against the Red Sox when it's sunny outside on Thursday afternoons.

Thanks JG. You just let me know my margin of error.

Everybody give me plus or minus 0.6% from the ranking I gave you.

Dinner's on the grill (pork chops, I swear), so I have a few minutes here...

DB, your predictions were great. I really did laugh out loud

Gloat? Me? Never happen. Sorry to disappoint everyone, but the hokey-pokey victory dance was quite enough. I'm modest enough to admit that while I know I outplayed everyone, luck did play a small part here. I'm guessing about 2-3% or so.

Oh, and BTW...Don't forget: I started one day late, so actually my margin of victory should have been larger.

Hey Pork Rinds, seems like PL has been burning your ass since about week 3?

Hey DB - you mentioned last week you might make the HR derby etc tonight - just curious if you made it. If so hope you were careful - wouldn't want to get clipped by a foul ball - I understand you can get quite a nasty bruise if you are not careful.

Thanks plaw. I really appreciate that.

Sometimes, for usually a semi-good reason, I just like to stir the pot a bit to much.

No, I didn't end up going although it would have been nice to after just watching it. I didn't think that there was enough star power (No Bonds, No Sosa, etc...). But man, Pujols and Giambi was amazing.

Yea, you should probably stick with it in here JJ. Your sense of humor will fit right in here.

Hey Buffy, just caught that the Dodgers picked up Rickey Henderson as well. I guess they needed to meet their almost-illiterate self-involved although previously great baseball player quota.

Unfreakinbelievable - for a number of reasons. I used to follow the A's back in the late 80's/early 90's when they were hot - McGwire, Canseco, Eckersley, Broshious, Baines, Rickey and Dave H. My pre-married surname was Henderson and I was such a fanatic when I watched games, people wondered if I was somehow RELATED to the Henderson boys

Also until last year, our farm team here was the Dodgers. It was here that I got to see players like Karros and Piazza come play off their injuries. As you can imagine, I saw Karros quite frequently - that bad back of his . Now the city bought a new Triple A team last year and it is now a branch of the Marlins. I have yet to go to a game this summer with the new team and have not been keeping up with the minor leagues much anymore. Most of these people let go today I haven't even heard of. And Rickey? Hadn't given him a thought in a looong time. How OLD is he anyway?

The Dodgers are already plagued with injuries - mostly in their PS....are these trades gonna help at all?

Ricky will be 45 next Christmas day. Makes him almost as old as I am.

No, the trades won't help. The Dodgers are done.

Hey JG, this was listed on the "Baseball Challenge" Front Page:

Game Note: Sunday July 13 marks the end of the first segment of Baseball Challenge. Rosters will reset and participants will need to create a new team to compete in the second segment beginning on Thursday, July 17.

How do we go about doing this? I just want to make sure that everyone is in on Day 1 so we don't have to hear, "I started 10 days late" or "I started 10 weeks late" etc... :p

All it means is that everyone that was on your roster Sunday is removed so you have to choose a new Catcher, 1B, etc. Most have some new values, slightly lowered. I choose all the players from Detroit and still have 23M left. I am going to lead the way in Cap Management in the second half.

Don't be talking about basement Bethie that way - she was trying. Damn yesterday you called Buffy a loser and today you talk smack to BB. You are a brave man.

They will have no players so they will get no points but I think since JGeoff set this up, he may be able to remove them.

Thats me (above) by an ad for "Pork, the other white meat". The pic was taken by Beth E. on her recent journey up to NYC. We were walking down the street, checking out the back end of 309 West 43rd Street (address sound familiar?) and we saw this advertisement. We looked at each other and immediately knew that Geoff's name was written all over it. :p

"The World is My Pork Chop"?

Sounds alot like Scarface. Can you just see our JG in a huge round bathtub smoking a Cuban?

Sometimes in playing this stupid game, I felt MY world was the Pork Chop. Everywhere I looked, there he was.....

Pull-eeeeze. The smell of bad Pork maybe is what you are smelling. Could these two even find their way to first place?

Funny about possible alliances. Somebody here thought I had help with roster changes while I was away (only if you believe in roster fairies ). They even went on to ask me if it was . Seems he appeared sympathetic to my "starting 2 days late" cause. As if.

Hard to believe, but I have friends in even lower places

OUCH - that was cold blooded - even for me to hear . Although I think what you probably meant to say was 'Could these two even find their way to first place combined ? '

Of course I would never say anything like that.

Loved the sign though SC. My guess is since that PL has stated numerous times that he owned JG this season - I would not be surprised if we don't see one like this end up in his possession somehow.

My wings are in flight Buffy. Hell, next time I'm kidnapping you and we'll do our Thelma and Louise thing. I wanna be the one that sleeps with Brad Pitt, minus him robbing me blind, of course. Well, if life begins at 40 then next year I'll be like a bat out of hell.

Poker huh? Jacks are wild, trips to win? Can't deal with cigars though. What else can I have hanging from my mouth?
