Congrats to Buffy and "sports widow" hubby. 16 years! You've been married almost as long as I've been a mother. Damm, I feel old now.

He absolutely may. But had I played any other way, I figured we would have wound up with basically the same team, which would give me no chance to gain ground.

The mistake I made was in assuming he would take the Yanks PS. Has I known he was gonna take Pedro, I would have taken the Yankees, and had a chance to make up some big points if they had a good day.

But I'm as happy as I can be, given the circumstances. I honestly feel I have an edge in pitching today, assuming Pedro doesn't throw more than 50-60 pitches like they're saying, and if the Baltimore PS somehow has a good day, this could work out well.

But again; it wouldn't surprise me if I got buried today. But it doesn't matter. Unless I gain major ground today, I would have had basically no shot to finish first anyway.

Any way you slice it though, whether I win this thing or not, I am going out in a decided whimper. The last remnants of the Bad Daddy curse taking effect! You better stop taking my pitching staffs also, FS! :p

I agree with you, PL, it will be interesting going into this weekend. I, unlike Bad Daddy, never considered my lead safe- especially when a pitching staff can get rocked at any time...

By the way...

Congrats Buffy on your anniversary! I didn't think getting married at 15 was allowed in most states!

By the way, even with that fuzzy math, that will still make you older than me! :p

Pee-Lawrence you better get a couple of glasses of milk in you to cut that burning feeling you have in your belly! ROLAIDS would also help.

I thought of all this, too, but, I decided not to take that route (or rout? ). At this point, in 4th Place, I just wanna maximize my season percentile for more Uber points. I don't expect all those guys to play. Nor do I necessarily expect the Yanks to try too hard. They already clinched home-field advantage, right? Cuz if not, they will try harder...

The Yanks magic number to clinch home field advantage is two.

I don't care about "uber points", whatever they are. I agree, my best chance for max points would have been to play the DH. But my best chance to gain points on DB was to not play it, and hope for a miracle.

Lets call it like it is. Not many are going to play very hard. Shit they drop and change pitchers/players so they can rest up for the playoffs so no matter who you pick it may just be a small workout to keep them loose, so you are screwed anyway, no matter what team or player you pick! Christ most players last night either didn't play or went in and came out like a Chinese fire drill

Look at the cubs last night and Suckie Sammy hits two HRs! Did anyone have him?

You're right, FS (with your 666th post ). I'm gonna crash and burn anyway - like I always do when I pick the Yanks PS. Without fail.

They've won 98 games. I've played them 3 times this season, and although they won 2 of those games, they gave me a whopping 8 pts TOTAL (for 3 games!). So, I'm not expecting much. Picking Yanks PS always scares the shit out of me - always high-scoring games against crap teams... ahh well... it's almost over

P.S. FS - What're you doing playing a double-header?? That's not your division :p

Well, that makes me feel a little better. It shouldn't be all scrubs then.

As for Ãœber points, it's your cummulative percentile history for all of ESPN games. You get there by clicking on a person's name (real name) in our league, then clicking on "Ãœber results".

I beg to differ. I think the players on the Cubs, Marlins, and Astros will be going all out.

Hey, I resent that remark! On 2nd thought, no I don't. But with the last 2 Orioles games being a 7-3 win and a 14-3 loss I think it's their turn to win a high scorer. You may be doomed.

Pork you are a brave man picking the YankMees. I was thinking about them but they are on my do NOT pick PS list. Last night the SCrubbies were added to that list - they suck ass DB.

I actually thought that most players may not play both games so I tried to mix it up a bit. Of course since I don't have the Yanks pitching staff I am hoping for a high scoring game(s).

And Buffy and 16 years - congrats. Wow and a flat screen monitor You know nothing says I'll marry you all over again more than a computer monitor. :p What happened to the good ole days when you showed someone how you felt about them with music and flower(s) ? Well hope you 'kids' have a fun anniversary weekend. I understand Pork is counting on you being hmm busy to post a W. PL is still concentrating on baseball so I will take a W there. And well we all know what DB said about Beth. Foh shizzle

Big Daddy...actually the screen saver was changed to show a big old sappy anniversary message. My Niner one was gone - that is how I noticed I had a new monitor initially. I guess nothing says romance or Hallmark like writing one's sentiments on a screensaver

I am not so sure I can hold my promise to not get near a TV with sports today. You guys are really piqueing my interest with this DH -um, that I missed

Good luck. To MOST of you

Recently seen on Buffy's screen saver...

"Buffy, I love you. Now if I have to hear about missing a doubleheader one more time..."

"Buffy, I love you. I especially like the new nickname you have for me, , you little devil!"

"Buffy, you are my one and always. For you, I wrote this haiku:

For you PL, I'll write a limerick:

There once was a man named plaw.
He was perfect in everything, but one flaw.
Fantasy baseball always on mind.
While on pee break, while eating Pork rinds.
Doing statistics until fingers were raw.

Just heard from my source at the New York Yankees. Here is Joe Torre's starting lineup for the second game of today's twin bill:

John Flaherty, C
Nick Johnson, 1B
Enrique Wilson, 2B
Luis Sojo, 3B
Erick Almonte, SS
Fernando Seguignol, LF
Juan Rivera, CF
Kiko Garcia, RF
Drew Henson, DH

I haven't checked, DB. Do you have any of these guys?

Is this the Eminem-type free style battle for fantasy baseball?!

Alright, here goes:

There once was a man named PL.
Who made a deal with the man from hell.
A Nets championship for a soul.
The Nets lost, sunk like a viagra-less Dole.
PL, in next life, will be annoying guy saying, "Dude, you're getting a Dell."

But a limmerick writer he's not
He forces his rhymes

Stick to Haiku
