Yeah, April is a long way aways, I am suffering the DT's as well.

But the gang is all over at the other football place. In fact, I didn't want to be the one to tell you this, but man they are talking some trash about you. Mocking your abilities, questioning your masculinity, you name it. Of course not me. I staunchly defend you every chance I get..... :p

I know I'll be laughed at for this, but what are "DT"s??? I must be having a brain freeze, but I'm not getting this one.

Not mocking him, Buffy? You are the leader of the "Bash Plaw" crowd! :p Of course, I didn't join though. Only those that think you are arrogant and hard joined! :p

Don't worry PL, I wouldn't even go over there to see what they are saying about you!

Man, plaw, you just brought back a flood of memories with those (Braves') names.

There were two names that were forbidden to be spoken in my house back in the late 50's. One was Adolf Hitler and the other was Walter O'Malley, but I still secretly rooted for my beloved Dodgers for a few years. Outwardly, though, I cheered on the Braves. Loved the awesome power of Adcock, Matthews and Aaron.

Dunno why I just thought of this, but the NL sure had some great first basemen then ...Adcock, Hodges, Cepeda, Musial, Dick Stuart, Frank Robinson.....

The Braves moved to Milwaukee from Boston after the '52 season.

That's right... I must have had another brain freeze.

So SC and Plaw, you guys seem to be baseball fans for a while now... Did you collect baseball cards and if you did, do you have any valuable ones?

Sniff, sniff. The tears are flowing....... I love you guys. (But you're not getting my Bud lite).

Ok, my little contribution to keeping this thread going. I feel like crap, it's a miserable day out, and I'm gonna do nothing but make hot chocolate, take a long, hot bubble bath, and curl up in the covers to watch the Braves smack up on the Cubs.

You're turn Doucheman!!!

I used to have a great collection in the 50's, but half of them ended up as "noisemakers" in the spokes of my bike.

Who knew then that they'd be worth a small fortune now??

Man, that's too bad. But I bet you still had fun with your noisemakers back then!

I collected cards starting around 1988. It was fun until my mom just started buying me entire sets, instead of building sets by buying packs of cards. Although I appreciated her buying the sets... what's the fun in that?!

DTs are the shakes and tremblings that alchoholics get from the lack of drink, altho I never knew exactly what the "DT" stood for, so i looked it up:
delerium tremens . Latin, I presume.

Baseball cards.... I collected in the late 50's. Used to buy a pack of Topps bubble gum for 5 cents, and get five cards. And, sad but true, like most, mine were thrown out by my mother

And it's not that SC and I have been baseball fans for a while. We're just old.

Is that like the Red Sox fans saying:
Buckey F*@King Dent!

Sometime you should get my pops to tell you about eating with a guy called Whitey Ford. I think he was a pitcher for the Yankees a long while back.

and then he can tell you about the night he spent in the airport with all the players from the New York Knicks during a snown storm. Willis Reed and some guy they called Earl the Pearl and that guy who justed died a few months ago Dave DeBusher (sp) and then he went to Wastington.

I really feel old when I read a post like that of fathersson's (above) referring to "a guy named Whitey Ford" and a "guy they called Earl the Pearl".....Man, these guys were heroes of my youth, and I just assume EVERYONE knows who they are, and how great they were.

FS, Whitey Ford was probably the best pitcher in the franchise's history, and Earl Monroe was one of the best (and flashiest) guards to ever play the game.

Well, I just returned from a brief visit to the football site, and read some of the recent messages.

DB, you were right! Bethie is the leader of the "Bash Plaw Crowd"

P athetic
L oser (who's)
AW OL

Indeed. My hearty thanks to BD and LD for leaping to my defense. And DB, thanks for the heads-up. Bethie has now replaced FS in first place on my enemies list, and will be dealt with accordingly. And after all I've done for her.

It took me four weeks to learn the fundamentals, but watch out now. especially you, Bethie...

Bethie is on my list too. She's mine next week. I'm sick of being down so low near plaw, that we are practically roommates.

But if youse guys haven't heard already....I've got my game face on....

In any case, this is what I'll do to you this weekend, Buffy...

Really? Like what? [/b][/quote]Well, let's see...

After spending about 10 hours in transit traveling to an airport, riding an eight seater prop plane to another airport, another wait in that airport, a five hour flight home, a wait for luggage and a trip thru customs, a car ride home from the airport, a quick shower and change of clothes, and a drive into the city

I TOOK THAT BALTIMORE CRAB CAKE OUT TO DINNER, AND THEN ON A BRIEF SIGHTSEEING TOUR OF LOWER MANHATTAN

That's what! And this is the thanks I get? Abuse? Insults?

Abuse I expect from FS, not from Bethie. She'll pay.

I know those guys SC! They are part of the historic teams of a game I play in my video-game like stimulator... err simulator! :p

Actually, I like reading up on old players, especially baseball. I used to read biographies all the time of the old-timers... Ruth, Gehrig, etc...

PatheticLoserAWal...you know I love ya, but to do a little paraphrasing, *There's no crying in football*

All I can say is it got you to the land of the living in fantasy football didn't it. I always do what I can to help out a dying cause.

After the ass whooping I gave you a couple weeks ago plaw you should be kissing my feet about now.

And Buffy, honey...the beating you gave me in week 1 was truly marvelous. Next week I'll be doing the slapping.

Well, at least we have Pee-Lawrence off the disabled list. After all that whining about being so sad it now seems like he has something to live for once again.

and you see I have been nice to the old crow, I mean POOR GUY. I didn't even make fun of him for being in the gutter of the Fantasy Football League.

Just think of it. Only two choices in each game and only so many games per week and we have to listen to people whining about not having enough time and are really starting four weeks late!
Christ you would think that they would let people in the nursing home spend more time with their computers! After all they don't have to get up for classes in the morning.
