The latest one- Javier Vasquez to the Yanks for Nick Johnson and a couple of other players. I don't know if the Sheff deal is done, but I think it's close. The Yanks probably have to send the Braves a draft pick or two for compensation. Kevin Brown for Weaver is also on tap...

MS, we'll probably be starting the league (and most likely a new thread in a couple of weeks). Read JG's posts on the first couple of pages and it will explain how to play.

To put it simply, you are alloted 100 points everyday. Each player has a certain value and taking into account those values, you have to fill all nine positions while staying under your 100 point cap. The diehards play (and post) everyday, as evidenced by the number of posts in this old thread.

Why start a new thread when you've got a record-setting fantasy baseball thread here already? Let's put the record out of reach!

This issue has come up before. JG previously said the size of this thread is causing some sort of slowdown problem.

And there are no prizes for being the longest thread. It only makes problems for how the board runs, which hurts us all.

I'm getting a little nervous.

I opened my shortcut to last year's fantasy baseball site, and got a completely different page--the home page, I guess, for all ESPN fantasy games. So I clicked on "Baseball", and wound up here:

But when I clicked on "BBC" (Baseball Challenge--that's what we played last year, right?), and it seemed as though the game didn't exist. It didn't offer registration for the game or anything.

I guess with no official record of the season there is also no 'official winner' of the entire season.

I still know I captured the bronze in the second half. I would have had at least a silver in the first half but I did start 10 games late - have I ever mentioned that. The first half was a mess anyway - that doesn't really count, if I remember the final standings were marred with a '*' anyway.

gee, seems like EVERYTHING costs this year.
