The score for the tiebreaker only counts for the national weekly rankings. Plaw, since we anticipate you to be in the Top Spot nationally most weeks, I'd recommend it. :p

Unlike the Baseball Challenge game, where there is a fairly big daily commitment, this game takes less effort to play (once a week), is more accessible to people, and I'd like to see a full group - I don't really care if some people stop playing after a while; let'em sink to the bottom and we'll make fun of them. I'd love to have 50 people in this game! (It's not like we'd have to use calculators to figure out standings for this one, so, the more the merrier!)

But rooting for the Saints already makes me an automatic loser.

Actually, the baseball season ends Sept 28, so there are less than 4 weeks to go.

So, just to recap...

As of today we're even. We have a dinner riding on the Baseball second half, and another on the overall season total.

It's easy: You make your picks of who will win each game. The point spread attempts to "even out" the odds.

Example: Thursday's game

Jets @ Skins

FAV / spread / Underdog
Skins / -1.5 / Jets

If you pick Skins, they have to win by more than 1.5 pts (2 pts or more). If you pick the J-e-t-s, they just need to win, or, lose by less than 1.5 pts.

Good example:

Miami -10.5 Houston

Assuming that you consider Houston a real football team ( ), Miami would have to win by 11 pts or more. If they don't, Houston would be the right pick.

Against-the-spread is THE biggest sports betters game of all time. How you've never played, is beyond me. :p

I understand the concept of the spread. I confess I spend more time than I should in the sports books in Vegas when I visit. I just didn't understand the format of the game here.

Honestly, I hadn't gotten around to reading the rules. Just like I haven't put my fantasy team together (they are still ALL benched )

Don't worry your Fantasy Team isn't going anywhere. It is more of a pick'em game. With the point spread you may as well be picking grapefruits. You have the same chance when you cut into it for a good one!

It says "Picks lock at the first game on Sunday" -- and I don't remember if that was true when there was a Thursday game or not last year. To be safe, I'd make them before the Thursday game. You can also go back and edit the Sun/Mon games if you're allowed to.

I just realized that for the tie breaker, I picked one team to win against the spread but my tie breaker points went the other way.
