So let the trash talk begin!

Well, SB, you are looking good so far, Your up by two with one game on Monday night.

I'm happy with a tie for second....

But if you notice the pro pickers are running the bottom of the board.

Please remember there is a long way to go, so as always the things we say today may come bad to haunt you later.
This really is the first tome we get to see the real teams play, because preseason is for subs and scrubs-

PL is like an elephant- he nevers forgets so don't kick the sleeping dog while he is down!

Oh I see. So that is why they are so quiet.

Don't have to remind me about the long way, remember I'm an 'Aints fan. We know our rightful place in the long haul.

I 'Aints skeered of being haunted anyway.

Apparently there's a glitch on the "Overall Results/Group" page... The accurate scores seem to be on the "Scoresheet" page:

Aints 10
Thumb 10
Rocky 9
Beans 8
Father 8
Arrow 8
Sicilia 7
Kraut 7
Bush 7
Brooklyn 6
Pork 6
Buffy 6
Plaw 6

I assume this glitch will be fixed by tomorrow morning, after the week is over...

Big DD,

My condolences on the Eagles start of the season. I hope the rest of schedule goes easier (of course until they get to the Giants.) We don't like the Redskins and of course the Cowboys are really not America's Team.

Tonight: Giants 72, Cowboys 3.

History has shown that over the long run the favorite covers the spread about 50% of the time, as does the underdog.

So far this year, the favorites are 22-9, a whopping 71%.

Most people (the participants in this game being no exception) tend to lean towards the favorites. That's why everyone is doing relatively well.

Don't worry. Things will even out, you will all come back to earth, and the cream, as usual, will rise. It's a long season.

History has also show that the home underdog usually covers the spread. This year the home underdogs went 0-6. A whopping 0%.

Boy was I disappointed last night. I turned on MNF and the Cowboys were playing Rutgers. I thought the Giants were suppose to play.

The Giants looked good in the 2nd half. Too bad their defense was lousy in the first half. Once Quincy Carter starts looking like Mike Vick, you know things aren't going well. Great game though.

Oh I see everyone is a critic, huh. I will admit the Eagles are not playing very good ball - matter of fact they suck big time. BUT - we are only one game behind the Bucs and the Giants so ... See in my past life I was a politician, like my 'spin' on things.

First how do the Giants lose to the Cowgirls, but how do they lose after kicking the go ahead FG with less than 30 seconds left in the game

I tell you the NFC East is gonna be pretty tough this year, not the best by far in terms of talent, but most of the games should be pretty tough physical football games.

Wow, I know I probably say this every year the first few weeks of the season, but...This is one crazy season, hard to predict anything!

What a horrible football weekend I had –
• First, OSU almost lost to NC State.
• Then, because of that triple overtime, I missed the first quarter of the Notre Dame game. When I finally got to watch the Irish, they are already in the process of getting destroyed.
• Then, on Sunday, my beloved Browns fell apart to those damn Ravens.
• Jamal Lewis predicts that he is going to break the single game rushing record, and then proceeds to do it. How a defense doesn't get fired up after trash talk like that is beyond me.
• After that, I was almost eliminated from the suicide pool at work when Oakland struggled against the Bungles.
• My fantasy team isn't producing either – I thought I had a good one this year.
• And I'm not really doing too well in this game either.

Hopefully next weekend is better - I don't see how it could get worse.

Okay... Round 1 this week was a bit ridiculous:
7 games, all 7 favorites won. (At least I picked 5 of the 7 )

FS and PL took opposite "strategies". FS picked all 7 favorites (and 6 of the next 7 favorites), and PL picked 0 favorites (and 2 of the next 7 favorites)...

pl, its very quiet from your end of Brooklyn/Secaucus. Its a long season.

It seems my change of strategy has paid off. I used a combination of uniform colors and animal names; i.e., Bears-Black, Lions-Silver. I give you the details, but I think I found the formula.

I'm also still alive in my Survivor pool. Had the Colts. Go baby $92,500 can buy a lot of Barolo.

Don't fret SB, there is plenty of opportunity for the rest of us to sux. I can strut for this week with 11 wins (even I'm shocked ), but I could easily change places with you next week. Maybe you have some of that 'Aints mojo on you.

This isn't looking good... in the First Half I was covering almost all my spreads, and now, I'm losing almost all of them

Yeow, I went with 10 underdogs on Sunday and 6 of them covered. I have the dog tonight also. Just call me Ace Rothstein. I might start hanging my pants up in my office. :p

ALIVE Again in my Survivor pool. The Broncos pull through. The pool was down to 650 going into Sunday (from 3,700).
