Only two people - JGeoff and plaw - thought the Niners could beat Tampa Bay?? Congrats. I am ashamed of myself having no faith in my own team. Way to go T.O ( I STILL like him, no matter what youse guys might say - 'cept for the fantasy owners that played him yesterday - bet THEY like him too! ) I'm a bit mad though. Friday my lineup was done. Then Saturday I have a conversation with someone close to me. For those who know me, this is the same person I keep saying I am not gonna listen to anymore Some day I will learn to never listen to others once my picks are made!

Doubt it, cuz I have Gannon on my other team and need a measly 7 pts to beat some crabby chick. So there goes that idea...

so much for THAT theory. MaryCas has five fingers on his hands? I am hoping he means on BOTH hands. I am still kicking myself for being disloyal to my Niners. Who'da thunk they would smoke Tampa Bay? I will be in Arizona this Sunday for the Niner/Cardinal game. Now, as many Niner games I have gone to in my life, I have never attended one where they have lost (knock wood). Might be a good week to pick the Niners. Or -- You can consider my rotten luck at some things this year and the fact that the statement above probably just jinxed me badly. I always make my picks on Friday afternoon. Don't know yet who I will pick, but I know I will pick the Niners. Use that information to benefit yourselves - however you wish to

LDV - two on one hand and three on the other; table saw accident. I would just like to draw everyone's attention to the fact that in the last four weeks I hit for the cycle: 8-7-6-5 correct. I'm aiming at zeeee-row. As a human interest story - sorta, my beloved, inept Giants got their just due on Sunday when Brian Westbrook of the Eagles ran back a punt 84 yards for the game winning TD. I have a connection to Brian Westbrook. My daughter graduated from the same school that Brian Westbrook played his college football - Villanova. In football,'Nova is a Division 1 AA school, more known for basketball. Westbrook broke the all time college record for combined yards - run, receiving, kick returns - in any division. As a fellow student, my daughter tutored Brian in English class. Go Brian go.

All right you prognosticators and protagonists watch out, the Kraut-Mick is on the move. Back to back double digit weeks. Jenson hanging tough at number one - consistency, consistency. Ole, the bumps and bruises on your tumble from the top, are they healed yet? Fatherson, as persistent as those pesky Eagles. pl - gaining, slowly, rising to approach those lofty heights of his pre-season prediction. Hi Pinko, see you in the middle - somewhere between liberal and conservative. But sadly I must report. I'm out of the money ($92,500) in my Survivor pool. 160 were left of 3,722 going into Sunday. 39 survived. 109 of us were foiled by those weak-ass, gutless, school-boy, wimps known as the Giants. Humiliated by the lowly Vick-less Falcons. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

OK, I'll bite...
Yeah, I got off to rough start, but if you throw out the first four weeks, I'd be in second place, only one game behind.
Still 7 weeks to go, 112 more picks to be made.
Don't worry; I'll pass all you amateurs and be up near the top at the finish.

Hats off to all you basketball junkies. I tried so hard to get into the game, but I just couldn't do it. There is no pleasure for me playing, watching or following the sport as I said before. I knew almost nothing about the sport but started anyway. Not that I don't like to compete, but a guy knows when he is headed down the wrong alley. Sure, "Nobody likes quitters!" but how many love sore losers? That is OK, I'll enjoy the rest of the football season and be ready for spring training with baseball. I hope to catch some more time on the slopes and maybe some R & R near the fireplace with the lady of my life.

Pro Basketball is sport perversion at its highest. As sport morphs into entertainment (ala wrestling) I find college sports more appealing, especially basketball. Basketball is also peppered with people of dubious personal character and integrity; wife beaters, murderers, rapists, druggies and the like. Granted they are amazing atheletes. Basketball at the pro level combines strenghth, speed, agility, finesse, dexterity and mental toughness probably at higher levels than any other sport. But I just can't watch it. But I'll watch UConn v. Syracuse any day.
